Before Training Requirements:
For safety reasons there are three requirements to be ticked of before you start training:

Register as member in the Paragliding Association of Kenya

Sign indemnity form with Cloudbase Kenya

Proof AMREF Flyin doctors insurance
Kenyan Paraglding Licensing System:
Cloudbase Kenya trains the P1 and P2 Level which are Paragliding Training levels that can be endorsed in the Kenyan Paragliding Licence
P1: BASIC GROUNDHANDLING

2 hours Taster/Training – 6000 ksh

4-6 hours Full Training – 18,000 ksh

Getting familiar with the Paragliding Equipment

Front Launch Basics (Wall and Pull Up)

Reverse Launch Basics (Wall and Pull Up)

Paragliding theory with Training Manual

Confidently launching the paraglider on the ground and controlling the paraglider over your head (student is technically ready to fly and ground handle independently)

P1 Level endorsement in Paragliding Licence booklet

P2: LEARN HOW TO FLY

Own training equipment is required (Cloudbase Kenya is a dealer for paragliding equipment from BGD - so we can order it for you!)

4-6 hours Hops/Maiden Flight – 24,000 ksh

New Paragliding Kit (BGD) 350k ksh
Training Content:

Small Takeoffs, Flying Hops (from a height of 2m-10m) with Voice Radio Guidance

Further Paragliding Theory with Training Manual

Short written exam
-
Maiden flight off Kijabe Hill. Launch with voice radio guidance.

P2 Level endorsement in Paragliding Licence booklet

Slopes around Kijabe Hill
Transport can be provided if needed for a small additional fee.
After the P2 endorsement you will be able to Paraglide Kijabe Hill under supervision of an instructor.
